Thank you for saying yes! Whether you are a Legionary priest or a lay member sharing your own story, your willingness to speak at our Evening of Reflection is a gift to the women of our section and to every guest who walks through the door. This page gathers everything you need to prepare in one place. Please return to it anytime; we keep it current throughout the year.
The Evening of Reflection is one of the most meaningful gatherings in the life of our section. It is a time for the women of Regnum Christi Bryan-College Station to come together, pray, learn, and be inspired, and it is centered on their formation. We also welcome guests, many of whom have told us the evening fed them deeply. For some, an EOR is their first encounter with Regnum Christi, so each evening is both formation for our members and an open door for others.
A typical evening includes a welcome and opening prayer, a talk from our lay speaker, a talk from a Legionary priest, small-group discussion at the tables, the opportunity for Confession, and time for fellowship.
This year's theme is "As I Have Loved You..." (John 13:34). Each Evening of Reflection is one step in a journey that moves through four phases. The year opens with Receive: I Am Loved (2 Corinthians 12:9), because before a woman can love others or commit to mission, she must first receive that God loves her. From there we move to Identity: I Am His (Ephesians 1:4-5), then to Mission: I Am Sent (John 13:34-35), and finally to Communion: I Am With Him (John 15:4-5).
By the end of the year, we hope each woman can share in her own words what Regnum Christi means to her and can articulate a personal mission statement that flows from her calling. Every talk is a step toward that.
Our two speakers offer complementary gifts. Father's talk is instructive and inspiring, opening the teaching of the Church and the heart of Christ on the evening's theme. The lay speaker's talk shares a personal experience of that same theme: how she has lived it, wrestled with it, or discovered it in her own life. Together, the two talks help the women both understand the truth and see it lived. The message is ultimately your own; we simply want you to have a clear sense of where your evening fits.
Below you'll find a copy of our Evening of Reflection planning sheet so you can see what to expect. The team leading your evening will complete this sheet and share it with you. It will include the theme, the purpose of the evening, the scripture we are anchoring it in, a short description of the women who will be in the room, and where your evening fits in this year's formation journey.
As you look it over, you'll notice a section that places both speakers side by side. The coordinating team leader will reach out to hear your thoughts on those items, such as the trait you'd like to focus on, your key message, and a few questions for the table discussions, and will add them to the sheet. Once both speakers have been heard from, the completed sheet will come back to you so each of you can see how the two talks fit together.
Of the six traits of the Regnum Christi lay apostle, our section is focusing on two this year. Reveals the Love of His Heart invites us into a deep, personal friendship with Christ, rooted in prayer, the sacraments, and Scripture, so that His love becomes the center and standard of our lives. Accompanies Them invites us to walk with one another as Christ walks with us, with patience, genuine friendship, and attention to each person in her stage and state of life.
We invite you to choose one of these traits as the heart of your talk and one main objective within it. The final pages of the planning sheet describe each trait in detail. And they are provided below as well.
About six weeks before the evening, your team leader will contact you to confirm the date and theme. About three weeks before, she will check in to hear your plans for the talk and gather your bio and any AV needs. About two weeks before, you'll receive the completed planning sheet showing both talks and the final table discussion questions. During the week of the event, she will confirm the evening's schedule and setup. Within a week afterward, we'll share what the women told us about the evening.
Our Evenings of Reflection are held at [venue name, room, and address]. [Parking details.] Please plan to arrive by [time] so we can test your microphone and any slides. We provide a microphone and a projector with a [connection type] for a laptop or iPad. If you are using slides, please send them to your team leader by [date] or bring them on a USB drive. The lay speaker's talk is typically about 20 minutes and Father's about 30 minutes; your planning sheet lists the times for your evening.

If you would like a fuller picture of what the women of our section are living this year, we warmly invite you to explore our other formation activities. Our Formation Days, our Study Circle curriculum and materials, and our Thinning of the Veil process all flow from the same theme and formation journey as the Evenings of Reflection. Seeing them may offer helpful insight as you prepare, and you are always welcome to join us for any of them.
